LEARNING DIFFERENCES PLAN AND PREPARE FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO COLLEGE

MY APPROACH

I believe that every student has a unique path to a successful transition to college, and that the student’s strengths should lead the way. My goal is to guide students and their parents through the complex college planning process.  The first step will be to identify the student's individual skills, talents, interests and learning needs. With this information, I will create a customized plan that reflects each student’s specific needs, preferences and priorities, and which will help the student find a college that is their best fit.

WHY WORK WITH A COLLEGE CONSULTANT?

Knowledge about Colleges:   There are over 3,000 colleges and universities in the United States, but students and their parents may be familiar with only a small fraction of them - none of which may be a good match.  The goal of a College Consultant is to find the "right fit"; a place where the student will thrive both academically and socially.

Individualized Approach:  College Consultants can dedicate the time necessary to get to know the students and their parents, and to determine their specific needs and priorities. No two students, and no two families are alike, and a College Consultant can offer a highly individualized approach to assisting with the college search and application process.

Minimize Stress: Once a college list is built, there are many tasks to be completed, such as filling out college and scholarship applications, writing essays, submitting financial aid forms, requesting letters of recommendation, and more. A College Consultant  is able to minimize the stress experienced by many families during this complex process by keeping students and parents informed and on track.
